OGS Webinar: Navigating Online Sources for Irish Research

On the first Thursday of every month, the Ontario Genealogical Society hosts an  education webinar.  This month, Donna Moughty will be presenting a webinar entitled ‘Navigating Online Sources for Irish Research’.   The presentation will begin at 7pm EST on September 6 and registration is required.

Donna says “The loss of records at the Public Records Office in the 1922 fire was devastating but many of the surviving records are now available online. The number of major records that have become available online in the past few years is amazing. Images of civil registration records now online as well as images of Roman Catholic records have revolutionized the way we research in Ireland. In addition, new records are becoming available almost weekly from multiple sources. When researching our Irish ancestors, Since there are no complete record sets in Ireland prior to civil registration in 1864, it’s important to search any source that becomes available that covers the time and place where our ancestors lived”.
